Woodridge wins big at this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards
Assisted Living and Memory Care community claims top honors in Union County
When she opened the email she was shocked — and thrilled.
Learning that Woodridge Assisted Living & Memory Care had won The Charlotte Weekly’s top prize in The Weeklies’ Reader’s Choice Awards for The Best Over 55 Community in Union County 2022 came as a jolt for the community’s Executive Director Audra Jolly because she didn’t even know they’d been nominated for the prize.
“We had no idea — it was a total surprise that we won!” she said. “I was excited — when I let the staff know how much I appreciate them they were thrilled!”
Everyone likes winning awards, but when the award comes from ballots cast in your community by people who’ve known you for years it’s obvious that you’re doing a lot of things right.
“When I first saw this community, I was so impressed. In December I asked to be transferred here and I came aboard in February,” Jolly said. “I’m glad I chose this place, and I know we are the favorite senior living community in Union County — I walked into a great situation.”
Woodridge was remodeled during the COVID pandemic and Jolly helped complete the decorating, decor and the finishing touches.
“We’ve been planting flowers and working on the landscaping,” Jolly said. “I want to let the residents have a home and not just a ‘facility.’”
It’s clear that kind of care and attention to detail has not gone unnoticed by their friends and neighbors.
Jolly is dedicated to continued excellence and consistent improvements, and she has high hopes that at this time next year she might just be celebrating back-to-back wins as The Best Over 55 Community in Union County!
